ABOUT US
I want to thank you for your contribution whether it was sponsoring a trophy, registering your vehicle, making a donation or volunteering your time. It is because of you that Doc's Second Annual Spring Fever Charity Classic Car Show was a great success. The car show was created to help meet the needs of those less fortunate in the Belvidere/Boone County area. The Helping Hands Network is made up of volunteers that coordinate other local churches with the needs of people that request assistance such as furniture, rent money, prescriptions, coats and appliances. All of these things are donated to the Helping Hands Network. His Glory Christian Outreach Center is an immediate care center helping provide milk, diapers, food, clothing, shelter, counseling, jobs and spiritual guidance for single mothers, homeless, those coming out of incarceration, or anyone in need. All of these things are donated or opportunities offered. You and I don't see the needs of those less fortunate in the Belvidere/Boone County area like these two charities. We can only guess the impact that they have in the lives of these people. Our goal last year was to double the $2,800.00 that was raised at the First Annual Doc's Spring Fever Charity Classic Car Show. We are proud to say that with the help of our trophy sponsors, registered vehicles and donations, we surpassed that goal and raised $7,000.00. This year our goal is to raise $10,000.00. Each of these worthy charities received $3,000.00 and $1,000.00 was donated to the Illinois Special Olympics in memory of Gary Reints. Gary was an avid car enthusiast and was a coach for the Illinois Special Olympics for many years. Our 2004 charity car show was Gary's first chance of the season to show his Corvette, Gary passed away the next day. The 2005 show was dedicated to the memory of Gary; his family also presented a trophy in his name. We had 144 registered cars with approximately 30 non-registered cars coming and going. About 3,000 people, some of them whole families came to see the cars, talk to the car owners, visit Skooter the Clown, and eat Hot Dogs, BBQ's and Ice Cream. It was a fun day for all! Thank you again for caring enough about our community to get involved, without you we couldn't have made it happen! We hope you will participate next year also.
Sincerely,
Kraig "Doc" Bryan
