HELPING HANDS NETWORK
Have you ever wondered how you could help someone in need?
Do you have a particular talent or skill that would benefit someone in need?
Helping Hands can help you meet your desires to be of assistance to others.
Who We Are
Helping Hands Network is a ministry of volunteers. Our goal
is to connect people who are willing and able to help with people who need help. Our main focus is to assist persons with physical and
financial needs on an interim basis until long-term help can be found.
Some situations that might warrant support form Helping Hands are:
- Physical needs, such as wheelchairs, walkers or hospital beds
- Times of great stress, or grief as per hospitalization, illness or death
- Financial crisis
- Family instability
- Basic household needs like furniture, appliances etc...
Helping hands Network is always in need
of volunteers. We have a good standing in the church and community, as people
continue to look to us for compassionate hearts and reliable help. If you are
willing to volunteer in some way, please help us in one of the following ways:
Financial Donations: Volunteer
funds used to meet needs that cannot be met in some other way.
Auto Ministry:
Donations of used vehicles and volunteers to transport vehicles and titles.
Transportation:
Volunteers to offer rides to church, doctor's appointments, shopping, etc..
Furniture:
Used but nice furniture will be collected for distribution; including
mattresses, bed frames, dressers and baby furniture.
Minor Home Repairs:
Skilled volunteers provide minor home repairs such as changing furnace filters,
fixing small plumbing problems, handicap ramp construction, etc...
Meals:
Volunteers are contacted 1 or 2 times a year to prepare and deliver meals to the
home of someone in need, e.g.. Someone who has just returned home form the
hospital or ahs a new baby.
Helping Hands Policy
Helping Hands Network is
pledged to focusing its attention on genuine needs in our churches and
community-needs that are not able to be met through existing service agencies of
supportive networks. generally speaking, specific needs are circulated to the
Christian community through spoken or written announcements. At times,
volunteers will also be contacted personally if they have indicated a
willingness to serve in a particular area.
While volunteering indicates a willingness to put on a heart
of compassion and care for others, Helping Hands Network also recognizes that
personal circumstances sometimes make it necessary for a volunteer to decline a
request to assist. these requests will be honored.
One of the goals of Helping Hands Network is to wisely manage
the resources God has entrusted to us through area churches, individuals and
organizations in Belvidere and Boone County. We welcome input and encouragement
in the area.
