Dear Cruisers,
On July 22, 2006 I attended the funeral of Lucky Hamilton. He
was an avid car guy and a long time member of the Studebacker Club. A number of
the club members attended with their cars. It was quite a site with them in the
precession.
It just so happened that the Good Times Car Club was having a
car show just up the street. I called Dave Ecklund Jr., the new club president,
and asked if some of the attending cruisers would be a part of the precession. I
asked that they follow along with the other cars and continue out of the
cemetery. As a fellow cruiser it was touching to watch this precession cruise by
at a slow pace and drive off. It gave me the idea to form a network of cruisers
that would do the same at other fallen cruiser's funerals as a final cruise
tribute.

First we would form a committee of 5 to 6 fellow cruisers that
would meet once or twice a year.
Second we would need to know who is willing to participate in
the cruise if there is a fallen cruiser. Most funerals are during the week; it
may be difficult for some to attend.
A form for information will need to be made; name, address,
phone, cell phone, email & what times they would be available. If a member knew
the fallen cruiser and was planning on attending the funeral with their car, we
would ask that they notify the network. We may need to ask for a $10.00 donation
per year to cover mailing and a plaque to give to the families, or any other
donation to the network.
Third, we will a contact person who will be notified when a
fellow cruiser has fallen. We may experience 1 or more at anytime, the committee
will decide what one to attend or to split the group to attend all. We would
need a form for information regarding the funeral arrangements. The Director of
the Funeral Home will need to know how many cruisers will be attending and what
our goal is.
Thinking of a name for the network was simple: Stateline (area)
Tribute (memorial) to Fallen (deceased) Cruisers (cars) Network (group of
people) S.T.F.C.N.

LUCKY HAMILTON

Dear fellow cruisers,
My husband, Ralph Robert Hamilton Jr., was born January 13th,
1945 in Kalamazoo Michigan. Because he was born on Friday the 13th, he was
nicknamed "Lucky" from birth. He died on July 18, 2006.
Like most car guys, his love of cars started at a young age.
Lucky bought his first car for $25 when he was 12 years old and promptly got his
first ticket. He might have avoided it if the car would have had brakes.
Being an avid cruiser, Lucky would have liked the idea of a
Fallen Cruisers Network. But speaking as his widow let me tell you what it has
meant to me.
Seeing that long line of antique cars and hot rods follow my
husband to his final resting place gave me the strongest sense of pride I have
ever felt in my life. To know he was loved and honored by so many was a source
of comfort that I will never forget.
I ask you to think about that as you make your decision to
become involved in the Fallen Cruisers Network. Yes, it is a honor and a tribute
paid to the fallen cruiser, but most importantly is it's impact upon the
survivors.
That long line of cars following my husband was a living
chain of strength that encircled me and the children. And on a day when our
hearts would surely be ripped from our chests they were held secure within that
circle of strength, love and respect. It was living proof that we were not, and
never would be, alone in our grief.
Sincerely,
Patricia S. Hamilton
Lucky was a husband, brother, son, friend and father. He leaves
behind a wife, 3 sons and 2 daughters.

BURNADETTE Y. VILLANI
In Loving Memory Of Burnadette Y. Villani
Born July 19, 1971
Died January19, 2007
Her Journey’s Just Begun.
Don’t think of her as gone away-her journey’s just begun;
life holds so many facets--
this earth is only one.
Just think of her as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where (here are no days and years.
Think how she must be wishing
that we could know, today,
how nothing but sadness
can really pass away’.
And think of her as living
in the hearts of those she touched.,.
for nothing loved is ever lost--
and she was loved so much.
